The Department of Defense has diverted $1bn in financing to permit development of some of Donald Trump's outskirt divider, it reported late on Monday night, in a move Democrats said would compound existing "generous setbacks" in protection spending.
Patrick Shanahan, the acting safeguard secretary, said the $1bn would go towards 57 miles of 18ft-high fencing and different measures along the outskirt, CNN announced.
